Welcome to the website for Annette's School of Dance, a site about the school, it's pupils (past as well as present), as well dance in general, and hopefully some useful links to other dance sites that may be of interest.

I hope you enjoy this site, and come visit us often as we will be changing and updating as we go on.

This year is the School's 25th Anniversary, and we'd like past pupils to get in touch with photos and memories before our special show at the Congress in December.

The 25th Anniversary Show

Our next show will be a celebration of the first 25 years of the school.

Called "MEMORIES" it will have some of Annette's favourite routines from shows stretching back to the school's early years; as well as a few new ones just to spice things up. With a mixture or Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz routines it promises to be an exciting show.

As always the show will be at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran, on the 4th, 5th and 6th December 2008.

A Little History

The school is based in Cwmbran, South Wales, and was formed in April 1983 by Annette Moore. The school is one of Cwmbran's longest established dance schools, and enjoys a good reputation for presenting shows and for exam results. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome, and whilst at the moment interest has waned, the school has run dance/fitness classes for adults too in the past.

The school usually produces at least one show per year, although we have gone mad some years and done two large shows, as well as numerous presentations at local OAP homes, and at hospitals. Shows are usually held in Cwmbran's Congress Theatre, over 2 or 3 nights. At these events the school has helped raise thousands of pounds for both local and national charities.

The school is a member of the British Ballet Organization and holds regular exam sessions in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz.

Recently Annette has become one of only three teachers in Wales to achieve the Government recognised  "Dance Teachers Diploma" (CDET & QCA accredited) in Ballet and Tap from the British Ballet Organization (the only organisation to get Ministry of Education approval for it's courses). She is currently working towards the recently approved qualification in Theatre Dance.

Lessons are held at Llantarnum Church Hall every Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings, and all day Saturdays; as well as West Pontnewydd Community Hall on Tuesday evenings.

Anyone interested in joining should contact Annette either at lessons or via email here.
